College Life can be stressful, and the past couple years have added additional stress to life in general.
Life is about being flexible, learning that things can fluctuate above and beyond our control. Adversity comes in all shapes and sizes, yet that does not mean that we cannot learn to overcome and become stronger together. As your Professor, it is my job to teach and give you tools to utilize now and throughout your life. I realize that COVID-19, and other issues have caused extreme amounts of stress and anxiety on everyone.
"We are all in this together.... Keep pursuing your goals and dreams... Never give up, regardless of your current circumstances - I BELIEVE IN YOU." In my classes, you can let your guard down and take a deep breath. I try to accommodate everyone to the best of my ability, while still upholding the standards of accountability at Southwestern College. You will find that my “ONLINE” classes offer a unique flexibility that many other classes do not.
When you enroll in one of my “ONLINE” 500 classes, attendance is “Non-Mandatory”, meaning it is not required for you to attend class during a designated class hour. Yet, you will find that all classes have recorded live lecture videos with closed captioning for you to watch at your leisure if you desire, downloadable PowerPoints, study guides, exams broken down in reasonable length and timelines and stress-free extra credit projects. Plus, I am always there for you to ask questions and/or set up a time to speak via telephone or ZOOM.
Being DEFT Certified, I went through special training that holds me accountable to make sure I conduct my online classes with the upmost care, respect, and ease for my students. You will find that I utilize CANVAS to the max with daily to weekly announcements, weekly homepage updates, modules, etc. - my classes are completely built with no surprises along the way. Assignments, Discussions and/or Exams happen routinely on the same day of each week, no suprises – and I grade your work within 24-72 hours of submission, so you always know where you stand.
